About James Tuomey

James Tuomey is a seasoned trial attorney based in Annapolis, Maryland. Having practiced as both a state and federal prosecutor, Mr. Tuomey understands how to build the strongest possible cases for his clients. Diligent, prepared, and unflappable – Mr. Tuomey brings sound counsel and representation to all the matters he handles, making sure to communicate with, and understand the specific needs of each client.

In his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Tuomey tried hundreds of cases to verdict. As an Assistant State’s Attorney in Anne Arundel County, Mr. Tuomey was entrusted with some of the most impactful matters in the community. These cases included homicides and sexual assaults, as well as white-collar and fraud investigations. Mr. Tuomey was assigned to the team prosecuting the Capital Gazette Newsroom shooting, playing a major role in the prosecution of that case. Mr. Tuomey has provided trainings to various law enforcement agencies, as well as to young attorneys.

Currently, Mr. Tuomey works closely with corporate clients in contract disputes, civil and construction litigation, as well as government investigations. Mr. Tuomey advises clients in reaching efficient and desired results, while always being prepared to advocate for them in court.

Prior to joining the litigation group at McNamee Hosea, Mr. Tuomey served as a federal prosecutor in the Violent Crime & Gangs Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.

Outside of the office, James enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
