McNamee Hosea Teal Appeal returned to participate in the 5th National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Central (NOCC) Maryland Chapter’s 5K Run/3K Walk to “Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer” on September 21, 2014. McNamee Hosea Attorneys, staff, friends and family came together to run/walk in support of all those whose lives have been affected by ovarian cancer. The event is an effort to help raise awareness and promote education about ovarian cancer. The mission of the NOCC is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for survivors.
The Teal Appeal team was able to raise $2,415.00 with the help of McNamee Hosea who matched all of their employees’ contributions. The event was a huge success and the NOCC was about to raise a total of $160,741.00 for the Central Maryland Chapter.
At the event, the McNamee Hosea Teal Appeal team was featured in the Sponsor Tent, and provided teal capped water bottles to participants. A few special highlights of the event included a special thank you from the NOCC during the closing ceremonies and runner Emily Schweitzer (13), daughter of Partner, Mark Schweitzer, placed third in her respective age group with a finishing time of 28:09.
This was a very special day for a great cause and McNamee Hosea is honored to be able to be a part, not only to give back to the community but to show our support for all of those who lost their battle and praise those fighting and congratulate those who have won.
