About Janet M. Nesse

Janet has over 40 years of experience in Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights, representing secured and unsecured creditors pursuing claims in bankruptcy court. She currently serves as Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 Trustee for the District of  Maryland.  She is particularly known for resolution of matters that require a creative approach in maximizing the recovery for clients, which includes purchases of claims, hostile takeovers in the bankruptcy context and pursuit of creditor plans. In addition, Janet guides businesses experiencing financial challenges through both the workout and judicial resolution processes.

Tough and practical, Janet is a creative problem solver. Her work is not limited to bankruptcy matters, as she conducts mediations and works on matters involving government contracts, contract litigation and other business issues.

In her spare time, Janet enjoys traveling and volunteering with public school students.
